Hanes T-Shirts And Other Garments

The Hanes brand was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and has grown to be one of the largest apparel brands in the World.
Since John Wesley Hanes designed  the first Hanes T-shirt in 1901, Hanes has evolved from a basic line of men’s underwear to men’s, women’s and children’s clothing: from socks to underwear, leisurewear, sportswear and organic T-shirt and polo shirt ranges.
In 1975 the classic heavy-weight T-shirt, the Hanes Beefy-T®, was introduced specifically for the T-shirt printing industry and in 1982 the company expanded into the European market. 2010 saw the launch of Hanes Tagless and Hanes organic T-shirt ranges.

Hanes Beefy T - a quality garment
Hanes have a good reputation for high standards of production and implement a number of quality control measures including in-line and final inspections. The company mission states that Hanes “Actively seeks opportunities to contribute to the communities in which we do business and to improve the environment that sustains us all…we are committed to the fair treatment and compensation of employees….and strive to continuously improve our environmental performance through conservation, waste minimisation, water and energy efficiency and effective use of raw material”.
Since 1982 independent European Hanes collections have expanded the range of quality printable fabrics - using a Hanes ring spun T-shirt for printing will achieve great results - and  Hanes was one of the first brands to introduce individual collections for men and women. The first successful products included slim fitting T-shirts for men and the BeauTy TM and Spicy TM collections for women. New, fresh colours and cuts were subsequently added.
Stedman was launched in 2001 as a basic collection of T-shirts, polos and sweats and now Oeko-Tex certified  Nano in 100% rung spun cotton is the latest brand offering one T-shirt in 2 colours and five sizes at low prices.
Hanes now offers a collection of tees, organic tees, sportswear, polos, sweats, pullovers, underwear, socks and kids’ wear. Since 2010 the organic cotton range defines another chapter for the future of Hanes and there are many new organic products for 2011. Women and men will find two new T-shirts. One with a crew neck, one with a V-neck, both made of 150 g/m2 quality in the sizes of S-2XL (women) or S-3XL (men). For children there is a 150 g/m2 crew neck T-shirt in sizes XS-XL (5-13 years).
Polo shirts come in one weight (180 g/m2) of combed ring spun cotton pique for men, women and children. All three models have cuffs, side slits and same-colour buttons. A grey contrast-coloured neck band completes the look. The new collection also includes 280 g/m2 hooded sweats for men, women and children and can be washed at up to 60 degrees. They also have a grey contrast-coloured neck band, waistband and cuffs made of ribbed fabric and zippers the same colour as the jacket. The children’s version has no tie-string in the hood for safety reasons.
Hanes also offers a dedicated sports collection – Tagless sports have been available with five styles made of breathable polyester and this year seven more styles have been added.
All Hanes garments meet the Oeko-Tex Standard 100, the globally uniform testing and certification system for textiles.
